Our Mission

According to In Defense of Animals, parrots "have joined the alongside the most discarded, homeless pets in America. They are also likely the most complex and most misunderstood of all popular animals kept as pets."

Our objective at Utah Parrot Education and Resources is to inform Utah residents, whether they own birds, about how parrots end up homeless and what we can do to prevent the continuing cycle.

This website was designed to help Utah residents find local bird rescues and avian vets in one website. In addition, we run a blog that highlights the stories of parrots who have faced neglect or hardships while bouncing from home to home. We hope this website inspires you to help local rescues find homes for birds who have been displaced.
